Our Big Girl

It's true. This does just get more and more fun. Really.

We are having a fabulous time watching our big girl grow and learn. She seems to be having a fabulous time being herself. Our time with her is filled with lots of laughing, funny face making, singing, reading, talking, stomping, dancing, running, stair climbing, lap sitting, hugging, kissing, body part naming, color and letter naming (yes, really!), hand holding, world describing, etc...

Some recent favorite quotes:

"Big, big waccoon" while carrying around her stuffed raccoon that is almost as large as she is. To fully appreciate this, you must have witnessed her "big" which is said very expressively. It almost looks as if she is upset or worried, although I think she is just trying to convey the very idea of bigness with feeling.

"Coooold nose" said to me as I came home yesterday. "Cold" said with similar intensity to "big" as described above.

"Two o's" triumphantly as she displayed to me just that: two o's. She seems to have mastered the concept of two, which is pretty amazing as that requires mastery of some idea of quantity.

OK, I'll shut up already and get to some pictures. Jesse and Eliana came to visit us around Christmas time. Eliana was a very sweet and attentive bigger kid friend to Aria and Aria followed her around like a puppy.

Eliana even got to carry Aria around. Apparently, she bragged about it for days afterward.

And here are some fun pictures.

Modeling her new scarf that Mama made her for Christmas:

Coveting Papa's popsicle:

Taking the snail for a walk:

I had the rare experience of catching her in a picture mid-giggle. So I couldn't leave that out.

That's all for now. Best wishes to you all!
